Here at Wye Reflexology Academy, we have been teaching Level 5 reflexology since 2019. In 2023, CAREA (Centralia Advanced Reflexology Education Authority) revised and expanded the syllabus to create this new qualification which is awarded by OTHM and regulated by Ofqual.

So the Level 5 Diploma in Applied Reflexology for Integrated Medicine has grown from a wealth of experience in writing qualifications and teaching at this level in the UK. This new qualification has retained many of the best features of the original qualification, but has standardised the approach across all CAREA Licensed Academies.

The CAREA Matrix

The CAREA Matrix includes:

Duopody – all our students learn Duopody, a fabulous treatment on both feet simultaneously, using the principle of direct anatomical reflection and using the amazingly detailed reflexology charts as featured in The PodyCharts book

CALM Technique – a fabulously relaxing and gentle technique for clients based on visual and tactile findings in their feet, this technique is a gentle and safe approach for clients facing serious health challenges

NEPIP – a technique which is ideally suited to treating clients experiencing high stress levels.

8 units of the Level 5 Diploma in Applied Reflexology for Integrated Medicine

The Level 5 Diploma in Applied Reflexology for Integrated Medicine has 8 units, 7 of which are taught and assessed at Level 5, and one is taught and assessed at Level 6. Level 5 is equivalent to year 2 of a foundation degree, and Level 6 is equivalent to the final year of a foundation degree. Our Diploma carries 120 UK credits _ the same as one year at university – and 60 ECTS credits, making this a transferable qualification across Europe and beyond.
