I’m often asked what a Level 5 reflexology qualification means and how it is different from a Level 3 qualification. What do the levels even mean?!
For those of us who achieved our qualifications a while ago, levels weren’t even a thing and so there is understandably some confusion among many of our prospective students.
So here is the simple explanation:
A Level 3 qualification – in reflexology or any other subject – is taught and studied at ‘A’ Level standard
A Level 5 qualification – again in reflexology or any other subject – is taught and studied at foundation degree standard.
So choosing to study reflexology at Level 5 involves a willingness to engage with the subject in more depth, with a far greater emphasis on evaluation and reflection. In our Level 5 reflexology qualification, for example, this is seen when our students take responsibility for the individualised treatment plans they design for their case study clients, and in their evaluation of what they see and feel in the feet during those treatments.
Our students learn a range of techniques, including but not limited to the exclusive CAREA Matrix of Duopody, CALM and NEPIP, and are able to select from their whole range of techniques when designing their treatment plans.
They also study accompanying aspects – including anatomy, physiology, pathology and business skills – at this same level, as well as a research unit at level 6.
Our Level 5 reflexology diploma:
- is regulated by OFQUAL
- carries 120 UK credits (and 60 ECTS credits), making it the most comprehensive Level 5 reflexology training available
